Finals Day - What an end to a fantastic week of tennis!
Sunshine, bumper crowds and silverware across 15 events brought the 2026 Senior Tournament to an unforgettable finish at Beauchief, headlined by Alex Jinks' remarkable comeback to win his resumed semi-final against top seed Conor Tordoff.
A thrilling Friday evening set the stage for Finals Day. Bailey Cole advanced to the men's singles final, while the clash between top seed Conor Tordoff and Alex Jinks was suspended in fading light and carried over to Saturday midday.
Tournament week entered the business end with a full programme of ten matches. Top seed Louise Holtum impressed with a commanding 6-3 6-1 victory over Lydia Drabble to seal her place in Saturday's women's singles final, alongside decisive handicap semi-finals.
Ten matches were safely banked under overcast skies at Beauchief ahead of Thursday's rain forecast. Ali Danesh made a composed start in the Men's Singles Handicap, while Mark Gray and Megan Green came through a tight opening set to advance in the mixed handicap.
The tournament reaches its halfway point at Beauchief with the top seeds asserting control. Conor Tordoff and Alex Jinks power through in straight sets to book their semi-final spots, while Bailey Cole battles through testing three-setters to stay in contention.
